News from the RegistrarMay 2007 Another project the Registrar is working on a project of entering the original applications for certification of decent of the Founders of the Society of Norwich, CT into a computer program, then filing the original application in separate labeled folders for better storage. So far descents #01 to #230 (years 1901-1937) have been completed. There are over 500 descent member applications. Genevieve recently attended the New England Regional Genealogical Conference in late April 2007 in Hartford, CT. The three day conference was full of interesting workshops from professionals. It was a comprehensive learning experience for me. Knowledge learned will help me in my work at the Leffingwell Museum. This has been my 2nd year as Registrar of SFN and I have enjoyed working closely with the board members, managers, members, descents, volunteers, docents, guests and community. Respectfully submitted, March 2007 If you have a family member that is a descendant of the 35 original Founders of Norwich and would like to become a member of the Society of the Founders of Norwich you can e-mail the registrar at gencal@snet.net or at the museums address. The Registrar will send you a cover letter and an application to include your genealogy information. There are over 500 members of the descendents of the Founders of Norwich and we invite you to join. Daniel E. Brown was accepted as a descendent of founder Robert Allyn in August 2006. Applications and instructions were sent to two people in January one from Kansas and the other from Texas. Respectfully submitted, |
