2010 Calendar of Events

All events take place at the Leffingwell House Museum unless otherwide noted. All programs are weather permitting. Reservations are required only where noted. TBA means "To be announced." The Leffingwell House Museum will be open for school tours beginning April 19, 2010-May 28, 2010. Our gardens won't be in until May 8th and May 22 weather permitting. We are looking forward to seeing you.

  • Saturday, April 3, 2010: 10 AM-2 PM Spring Cleaning. Help us get the house ready for the new season! Dress for the weather and bring work gloves. Museum 2nd Floor & 1st Floor, No Tours. Cleaning and Readying of exhibits. All help gratefully accepted.
  • Saturday, April 3, 2010: 9 AM-Noon Costume Sewing Class led by Denise Williams. Basic chemise & shirts. Notice asked, walk-ins welcome, Museum Basement. Materials provided. Donations gratefully accepted.
  • Saturday, April 3, 2010: 12 PM-1 PM Lunch Provided for Spring Cleaning volunteers. Menu: Sweet Potato & Corn Chowder, Colonial Kitchen, Contributions gratefully accepted.
  • Saturday, April 10, 2010: 10 AM-2 PM Spring Cleaning. Help us get the house ready for the new season! Dress for the weather and bring work gloves. Museum 1st Floor & Basement, No Tours. Cleaning and Readying of exhibits. All help gratefully accepted.
  • Saturday, April 10, 2010: 9 AM-Noon Costume Sewing Class led by Denise Williams. Skirts and Pants. Notice asked, walk-ins welcome. Museum Basement. Materials provided. Donations gratefully accepted.
  • Saturday, April 10, 2010: 12 PM-1 PM Lunch Provided for Spring Cleaning volunteers. Menu: Pork, White Bean and Kale Soup, Colonial Kitchen, Contributions gratefully accepted.
  • Saturday, April 17, 2010: 10 AM-12 PM Tour, Host Review for New and Experienced Hosts. Museum Parlor, Two hour Behind the scenes private tour for hosts.
  • Saturday, April 17, 2010: 12 PM-1 PM Lunch provided for New and Experienced Hosts. Menu: Assorted sandwiches, Colonial Kitchen, Contributions gratefully accepted.
  • Saturday, April 17, 2010: 9 AM-Noon Costume Sewing Class led by Denise Williams. Corsets and Vests. Notice asked, walk-ins welcome. Museum Basement. Materials provided. Donations gratefully accepted.
  • Monday-Friday, April 2010: (Date & Time TBA) School Group, One hour Tour/Project. Hosts Needed.
  • Saturday, April 24, 2010: 10 AM-4 PM Earth Day Clean-up. Bags Provided. Bring your own gloves and hat. Dress for the weather. Families and groups welcome. Museum Grounds and immediate Street area, Regular Admission and Tours Noon-4 PM.
  • Saturday, April 24, 2010: 12 PM-1 PM Lunch Provided for volunteers and hosts. Hot Dog Lunch, Museum Grounds, Contributions gratefully accepted.
  • Sunday, April 25, 2010: 9 AM-Noon Costume Sewing Class led by Denise Williams. Jackets & Accessories. Notice asked, walk-ins welcome. Museum Basement. Materials provided. Donations gratefully accepted.

  • Saturday, May 1, 2010: Noon-4 PM May Day Celebration. "Tell us the story of your job." Dancing & Games weather permitting. Museum, Flag Pole, South Parlor. Regular Admission and Tours.

  • Saturday, May 8, 2010: Noon-4 PM Gardening Party. Prepare the Gardens. Weather permitting. Bring your own gloves and hat. Families and groups welcome. Museum Grounds. Regular Admission and Tours.
