Earth Day was a BLAST!!

Earth Day was a blast and wonderfully productive thanks to 13 girl scouts, troop leaders and family members. They even brought gifts for the museum of some badly needed gardening tools and for the garden itself - earthworms!

Just as the girls were getting organized a car drove in with a large dog and a woman rushed over and handed us a whole box of vinyl gloves to wear for picking up trash and said she couldn't stay because she had to take her dog to the vet. Thank you, nice lady! Whoever you are!

The 1st and 2nd grade girls raked, weeded, picked up pine cones and sticks and helped to create our new mulching areas. The old mulch pile currently has a very large digging machine parked directly on top of it!

Just as the girls were leaving, a group from the United Community Services Living Skills Class arrived and they attacked the Washington Street area near the museum picking up paper, trash and other unsightly litter. They were very grateful for the vinyl gloves and for the gardening gloves donated by Carmen Johnson. They filled FIVE large trash bags!
