Snow Griddle Cakes

This is a colonial period recipe with modern approximate amounts.

Ingredients:

  • 6 T Flour
  • Salt
  • 6 teas fresh lighly fallen snow
  • Sweet cream
  1. Add a little salt and six tablespoons of fresh lightly fallen snow to 6 T flour.
  2. Stir the flour and snow well together and add sweet cream.
  3. Bake the batter in small cakes on a griddle, using very little butter.
  4. Eat with butter and sugar or maple syrup.
  5. Note: ALWAYS USE FRESH SNOW
