Snow Griddle Cakes
This is a colonial period recipe with modern approximate amounts.
Ingredients:
- 6 T Flour
- Salt
- 6 teas fresh lighly fallen snow
- Sweet cream
- Add a little salt and six tablespoons of fresh lightly fallen snow to 6 T flour.
- Stir the flour and snow well together and add sweet cream.
- Bake the batter in small cakes on a griddle, using very little butter.
- Eat with butter and sugar or maple syrup.
Note: ALWAYS USE FRESH SNOW
